Customer Background
An overseas customer needed to replace worn belts used in their equipment.
However, the customer was unable to provide the exact product name or technical drawings, and could only share photos and a brief description of the belt structure.
Customer Challenge
The customer described the belt as:
“It has a layer of foam inner layer with 40 duro red 2mm cover siped (see pictures attached)”
They also provided partial specifications:
- 2000 8M, 20 mm wide, 250 teeth
- 1600 8M, 51 mm wide, 200 teeth
- NR35 red cover, 2 mm thickness
Key challenges included:
- No standard product name or complete drawing
- Limited and partially unclear technical information
- Need to ensure accurate reproduction for proper installation

Based on the customer’s description, photos, and partial specifications, Puteken analyzed the belt structure and confirmed key parameters, including:
- Belt pitch and tooth profile (HTD8M)
- Belt length and width
- Foam backing structure
- Red cover material and thickness
- Surface treatment (siped design)
Our team consolidated all details and reconstructed a complete technical understanding of the belt, then confirmed the specifications with the customer before production.
Result
- The belt structure was successfully identified and reproduced
- The final products matched the customer’s application requirements
- The customer was able to replace the original belts without issues
