Customer Background
An Australian customer experienced belt failure during the aluminium strip coiling process.
The belt was used for wrapping aluminium coils after rolling, but the original belt was easy to broken from the joint part after a period time of usage.
The customer could offer basic belt dimensions and operating temperature and conditions.
Customer Challenge
- Existing belt was broken and needed an new replacement belt urgently
- Only belt size and temperature range were available, belt material was unknown
- Required reliable performance of the belt in a continuous demanding working environment

- Belt length: 5650 mm
- Belt width: 280 mm
- Belt thickness: 5 mm
- Working condition: Coiling aluminium strip for hot and cold mill – Temp no higher then 200℃, belt is estimate 40 seconds for contact with aluminium sheet.

Based on belt specific application and working condition, considering high working temperature, surface protection and durability, Puteken selected a suitable belt model and type for customer. We recommended Nomex Felt Coil Wrapper Belt, which is widely used in aluminium rolling and coiling lines and the needled Nomex can resist high temperature.
Puteken confirmed the belt structure and dimensions with the customer and arranged production accordingly.

- The belt performed very well in mill coiling operations
- Stable wrapping without damaging the aluminium coil surface
- After six months of continuous operation, the customer placed a repeat order for two additional belts for spare parts stock
