Adjustable and Easy Installation Link V Belt
Link V belt is made of highly polyurethane and polyester composites. It usually replaces standard rubber V belt used for lathe and drill machines, power transmission and wood machines. Puteken produces red color link belt and orange color nut link v belts and rounded shape link belt.
- Easy Installation and Adjustment: Suitable for any length without disassembly, even in a closed drive device can be installed, reducing production line pause time.
- Vibration Reduction: The structural characteristics of the joint, so that the vibration rate reduced by 50%.
- Resistant to Chemical
- Simple Design: Simplify the mechanical design and save the manufacturing cost.
Link V Belt Description
Adjustable link V-belt (often referred to as twist-link or PowerTwist) is innovative power transmission belt designed to provide flexibility and durability while maintaining high power transmission capabilities.
The belt is not easy to stretch and relax, can achieve accurate results as long as each bet has the same number of knots. Power twist link belt mainly has two types, one is the red one another is the orange one with nuts, the blue one of anti-static needs customized. The belt has M8, Z10, A13/4L, B17/5L, and C22 these specifications.
As link V belt suppliers, Puteken got major market share all over the world. And our production output is approximately 800 meters per day.

Adjustable Link V Belt Applications
- Machine Tools: Adjustable V-belt is widely used on lathes, drill, grinders and milling machines. It can reduce chatter and offer better control.
- Ventilation Systems: Link V-belt has features of high flexibility and quick change-out without needing tools, which is ideal for industrial fans, blowers and exhaust systems, which is hard to reach rooftop.
- Woodworking Industry: On table saws, band saws and planers, link drive belt reduces vibration and “rumble”—leading to cleaner cuts and quieter operation.
- Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning System: In air handlers, cooling towers & compressors, some areas is difficult to reach to replace new belt. Link V-belt overcome this hardship, make it very easy to replace new one, especially in large buildings or plants.
Link V-Belt vs Traditional Rubber V-Belt
| Feature | Link V-Belt | Traditional Rubber V-Belt |
|---|---|---|
| Length Adjustment | Adjustable by adding or removing links | Fixed length |
| Installation | Install without dismantling equipment | Often requires shaft or pulley removal |
| Downtime | Minimal downtime | Longer machine downtime |
| Vibration Damping | Excellent vibration and noise reduction | Limited vibration damping |
| Belt Slippage | Reduced slippage due to segmented design | More prone to slippage when worn |
| Chemical Resistance | Resistant to oil, grease, water, and most chemicals | Limited chemical resistance |
| Temperature Range | Wide operating temperature range | Narrower temperature tolerance |
| Reusability | Reusable and reconfigurable | Not reusable once damaged |
| Storage & Inventory | One belt fits multiple lengths | Multiple belt lengths required |
| Maintenance Cost | Lower long-term maintenance cost | Higher replacement and downtime cost |
| Typical Applications | Woodworking machines, HVAC, fans, machine tools | General industrial drives |
Link V-Belt – Quick Installation Guide
Measure and Determine Belt Length
- Wrap the link V-belt around both pulleys and pull it tight by hand.
- Overlap the two belt ends and insert the connecting tabs through the corresponding holes.
- Count the number of links required and remove any excess links to achieve the correct belt length.
- Most link belts are marked with directional arrows (usually every 10 links) to indicate the correct running direction.
Disconnecting or Removing Links
This step is typically used when adjusting belt length or disassembling the belt.
- Turn the belt upside down to expose the tabs.
- Twist one tab 90° so it aligns with the slot.
- Pull the tab out of the link hole to separate the links.
- Repeat this process to remove additional links as needed.
Assembling the Link V-Belt
- Ensure the connecting tabs are facing outward at the belt ends.
- Insert the first tab through both link holes.
- Flex the belt and use your thumb to twist the second tab into the remaining hole.
- Make sure all tabs are fully seated and locked across the belt width.
- Flip the belt so that all tabs face inward toward the pulleys.
Installing the Belt on the Pulleys
- Check the belt direction and ensure the arrows point in the direction of rotation.
- Position the belt on the smaller pulley first, seating it in the pulley groove.
- Roll the belt onto the larger pulley by slowly rotating the drive shaft.
- For multiple-belt drives, install each belt one at a time, ensuring all belts are evenly seated.
Installation Tips
- Always install the belt with the correct running direction.
- Do not use tools to force the belt into place, as this may damage the links.
- After installation, run the system briefly and recheck belt tension and alignment.
More Information
1.Is polyurethane link belt as strong as traditional rubber V-belts?
Yes, and in many cases, they outlast traditional rubber v-belts, especially in high-vibration or dusty environments. They offer comparable tensile strength and better resistance to environmental wear.
2.Can I reuse or re-link the belt after removal?
Absolutely. You can unlink, shorten or re-link the belt as needed, making it highly reusable and cost-effective over time.
3. Can Adjustable V-belts replace traditional rubber V-belts?
Yes. Adjustable V-belts are designed to directly replace standard rubber V-belts with the same cross sections, such as A/13, B/17, 3L, 4L and 5L. No pulley modification is required.
4. How do I choose the correct size?
Select the belt based on the V-belt profile (A, B, 3L, 4L, etc.), not the exact length. The length can be easily adjusted on-site by adding or removing links.
5. Do I need special tools for installation?
No. Power twist V-belts can be assembled and installed by hand or with simple tools. No belt cutting tools or machine dismantling are required.
6. Can the belt be installed without removing pulleys or motors?
Yes. One of the key advantages is installation without dismantling equipment, which significantly reduces downtime compared to traditional rubber V-belts.
